Partnr works because students can trust each other. These are the rules everyone follows. Breaking them can get content removed or an account suspended or deleted.
1. Be respectful
In short: Treat every student the way you'd want a teammate to treat you.
- No bullying, harassment, threats or name-calling.
- No hate: nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or where they're from.
- If someone says no or stops replying, respect it. Don't keep messaging them.
2. Be honest
In short: Be yourself. Your real age, school and skills.
- Don't pretend to be someone else or create fake accounts.
- Don't lie about your age, school or skills.
- Don't take credit for work you didn't do.
3. Keep private things private
In short: Protect your information and other people's.
- Don't share phone numbers, home addresses, personal emails, passwords or personal social media, yours or anyone else's.
- Links in your profile should show your work (GitHub, portfolio, project or nonprofit site, or your club's public page), not your personal accounts or ways to contact you.
- Don't screenshot or share someone's private messages or files without their permission.
4. Keep it appropriate
In short: Partnr is for school projects and building things.
- No sexual content, nudity or sexual messages. Never ask anyone for photos.
- No violent, graphic or dangerous content.
- Nothing about drugs, alcohol, vaping or weapons.
- No dating or romantic requests. Partnr is for partners on projects.
5. No spam, selling or scams
In short: Partnr is free and stays that way.
- Don't advertise, sell anything or ask for money.
- Don't send the same request to lots of people or post fake projects.
- Don't share links to scams, viruses or sites that ask for passwords.
6. Compete fairly
In short: Work together, don't cheat.
- Follow each competition's rules, including rules about who can be on a team and who can help.
- Don't use Partnr to cheat on schoolwork, tests or competitions.
7. Stay safe
In short: Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.
- Keep conversations on Partnr until you know and trust your partner.
- Never meet in person without telling a parent or guardian, and meet in a public place.
- Never send money, gifts or photos of yourself.
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them and report them. You won't get in trouble for reporting.
- If you're ever in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, talk to a trusted adult right away. In the US you can call or text 988 anytime. In an emergency, call 911.
8. What happens if someone breaks the rules
In short: We review every report and act to keep students safe.
- We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete the account.
- Serious problems, like threats or anyone trying to harm a minor, may be reported to parents, schools or the authorities.
- Report a problem from a student's profile or messages, or email hello@projectpartnr.com.
